From 1970 to 1985: early days of the Macchi Hotel.

Because of the growth in winter sports and the expansion of the resort town of Châtel, Roland and Jeanne Macchi decided to open a hotel in the Christmas season of 1970.
 
The Macchi hotel grew significantly, especially after 1980, with the arrival of Eric Macchi, their son, with his cookery qualification.

In 1985, the hotel was passed on to Eric Macchi.

In 1985, Mr and Mrs Macchi senior decided to hand the business down to their son, Eric Macchi, who had recently married Miss Elisabeth Teigné.
 
From then on, everything happened quickly. Eric and Elisabeth Macchi, a young, dedicated, hard-working couple, decided to take matters in hand and make their hotel the one that sets the standard in the village of Châtel.

From 1987 to 1997…

Many changes took place with the birth of their three daughters:
 

• In 1987...Perrine was born and the Perrine Room was created. This is now the leisure facility where you will find the Jacuzzi, the sauna, the cardio training room, and soon, the Turkish bath.  

 

• In 1993...Anaïs was born and the indoor pool was created.

 

• In 1997...Céline was born. The ‘Aigle’ bar was opened, and a cocktail was named after Céline.

In 2008…some major building work was carried out.

The Macchi Hotel opened two new facilities: a room called 'Salle de l'Ours' (the Bear Room) to host seminars and leisure activities, and the Authentique Voyage Spa dedicated to India and the practice of ayurvedic massages.
